Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral spherical ring capable of improving the productivity without any cutting of the inner and outer circumference at a low cost after forging the peripheral spherical ring.
SOLUTION: A cylindrical blank X3 which is longer than the length D in the axial direction of a peripheral spherical ring as a flnal product expecting the volume required for forming the spherical swelling with the outer diameter A same as the diameter A of the end face and the length C in the axial direction in the peripheral spherical ring R as the flnal product, is inserted to a die side at a die 6 and a punch 11 having symmetrical half-split spherical formed parts 21a, 31a through a center guide pin 23. Each end face in the axial direction of the blank X3 is compressively driven in the condition in which the cylindrical blank X3 is present in the sealed formed space through the close contact of the punch 11 and the die 6, and the intermediate part of the blank X3 is swollen into the half-split spherical formed parts 21a, 31a to form the peripheral spherical ring R having the peripheral spherical surface and a through hole (b) of the prescribed diameter.
