Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain information on not only body fat but also body fat distribution very simply with a low cost without adverse effects on human body by obtaining abdominal organ fat area or quantity from bioelectric impedance and abdominal subcutaneous fat thickness measured based on a personal parameter. SOLUTION: A measuring person of body fat distribution switches on the power switch of a weight scale 10 with a body fatmeter, and inputs a personal parameter using a data input switch in the input part 14. Then, He/She measures the abdominal subcutaneous fat thickness using an ultrasonic probe 30. Then, he/she rides on the stand while contacting his/her soles with the electrodes 11 and 12 of the stand of the body weight scale 10 with a body fatmeter. Thus, weight measurement is made by the weight sensor and the weight data is inputted into the control circuit and simultaneously bioelectric impedance is measured. Fat quantity by bioelectric impedance is calculated with an operation circuit, and abdominal total fat (cross-sectional) area, abdominal subcutaneous fat (cross- sectional) area, and abdominal organ fat area/abdominal subcutaneous fat area are calculated.
