To provide a method and device for measuring the concentration of a tar component, capable of increasing the measuring speed of the concentration of the tar component at low cost.
The method for measuring the concentration of the tar component includes: a step of removing a solid substance contained in formed gas by a filter member 3 while holding the temperature of the filter member 3 to temperature avoiding the adhesion of the tar component contained in the formed gas; a step of eluting the tar component into an organic solvent from the formed gas from which the solid substance is removed by the filter member 3; a step of irradiating the organic solvent, in which the tar component is eluted, with light to measure the absorption quantity from the light transmitted through the organic solvent by a spectrophotometer 7; and a step of operating the concentration of the tar component contained in the formed gas on the basis of the relation of the measured value by the spectrophotometer 7, the predetermined concentration of the tar component contained in the formed gas, and the measured value of the spectrophotometer 7.
