Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING FLAW PART IN MOLTEN METAL VESSEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002062282
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a device using an ultrasonic sensor for measuring a flaw part such as a thinned part or a corrosion hole in a vessel for galvanization from the vessel inside.
The ultrasonic sensor used in this device is constructed of a probe 18 in which dead soft steel 16 is fixed to a vibrator 15 made of lithium niobate with activated silver solder 17. The dead soft steel 16 has good wettability with molten zinc, while thickness in an alloy layer with the zinc does not increase beyond a predetermined thickness, so that accurate measurement can be carried out by using the molten zinc as a catalyst.
