Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the basic visco-elastic characteristics of a substance accurately by furnishing a means to load a torsion stress on a viscoelastic substance, a means to measure the relief of torsion stress with time and convert the relief stress into a waveform, and a processing means to decide the frequency in compliance with the basic viscoelastic characteristics of the substance.
CONSTITUTION: A DSR device(dynamic stress relief measuring device) 10 includes a dynamic stress relief measuring instrument 12, an exclusive processor 14, universal processor 16, etc., and these are in cooperative function to provide quantitative and qualitative information concerning a viscoelastic substance to be tested. The relief measuring instrument 12 performs the test of a specimen by developing a certain impact deflection in the viscoelastic substance, wherein a torsion stress counteracting to the deflection is developed in the specimen. The instrument 12 measures the torsion stress relief with time in the specimen, produces data of analog signal type, and feeds it to the exclusive processor 14. The processor 14 subjects the fed signal to adjustment and filtration and digitizes so that processing with the processors 14 and 16 is made practicable.
