Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make accurately measurable hydrogen peroxide concentration in water containing hydrazine by measuring the hydrogen peroxide concentration using the phenolphthalein method, and by measuring hydrazine concentration for correcting the hydrogen peroxide concentration.
SOLUTION: Hydrogen peroxide concentration in water containing hydrazine is measured by the phenolphthalein method. Besides, hydrazine concentration in the water containing hydrazine is measured (preferably, the p- dimethylaminobenzaldepyde absorptiometric analysis method should be used). In the phenolphthalein method, since one part of the hydrazine is also determined as the hydrogen peroxide (for example, approximately 1/3 of the hydrazine concentration is determined as the hydrogen peroxide in reaction time of 15 minutes), the amount of the concentration where the hydrazine is measured as the hydrogen peroxide is estimated according to the hydrazine concentration, the amount of the concentration is subtracted from the measurement value of the hydrogen peroxide, and the obtained result is used as an actual hydrogen peroxide concentration.
