PURPOSE: To accurately know bearing load and minitor the same at all times during operation by measuring the oil film pressure of a bearing sliding surface and the metal temp. near the bearing sliding surface.
CONSTITUTION: At least ≥2 points of pressure measuring holes 10 are pierced to a bearing sliding surface 9, pressure propagating holes 11 are provided to a bearing end face 8, and pressure sensors 12 are installed to the end face 8. Temp. sensing elements 7 are buried in a white metal 5. The signals from the sensors 12 are amplified by an amplifier 14, and are inputted to the input device 15 of an operator 16, by which bearing load is operated. The metal temp. signals from the element 7 are also inputted to the device 15, by which bearing states are operated. Operating conditions 13 such as number of revolutions N, turbine load, oil feed pressure, feed oil temp. and the like are also inputted to the device 15. The respective signals taken into said device are operated by the operator 16, and the bearing load, the state of inclination, and the pressure or absence of abnormality are diagnosed and are outputted to a display device 17.
