Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make this picture monitoring device hardly influenced by diffused external light by detecting a density change area from an image entered from a visual sensor, removing an isolated point and extracting a point group.
CONSTITUTION: The visual sensor 2 is arranged on a monitoring area 7 and constituted of a CCD camera. A detecting means 13 in an image processing part 10 detects a density change area by using an input image from the sensor 2 and a reference image stored in a storage means 12. When an independent point exists in a binary image, the means 13 removes the isolated point to obtain a point group and a feature variable extracting means 14 finds out the coordinate position and size of centroid of the point group area. The feature variable is stored in a storage means 15. A judging means 16 judges whether a moving object exists in the monitoring area or not by detecting a change with the passage of time in the extracted feature variable.
