To provide a method and a device for operating or controlling an auxiliary electric or mechanical charger with the response characteristic of an exhaust gas turbo charger improved and without giving significant load to a built-in electric power source.
In this method for operating or controlling a charger (2000; 1000), operational signals operating the charger (2000; 1000) are generated so as to reduce the load of the built-in electric power source in particular at the time of starting the charger (2000; 1000). The operational signals are generated as a function of a first operating condition of an internal combustion engine (1005) directly advanced to the rising of a desired torque of a driver, in a manner that the charger (2000; 1000) already increases its rotational speed during the first operating condition.
