Abstract:
To provide an improved power storage system and method for extending the life of a vehicular battery pack.SOLUTION: A method for optimizing the operation life of a power storage system that includes a battery pack including a plurality of battery cells includes the steps of: measuring temperature (T) of the battery pack by a sensor unit; measuring at least one other parameter indicating an index of the operation life of the battery pack; detecting whether or not the parameter reaches a predetermined threshold indicating a state where the battery pack approaches at the end of expected operation life; and, if the parameter reaches the threshold, initiating heating of the battery pack to increase the temperature (T) of the battery pack to a predetermined value (T1).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
