Abstract:
To provide the method/device which can properly protect the copyright while eliminating the influence of electronic watermark information to the quality of contents data when the data are not recorded, but just reproduced and used.
When data are reproduced on the assumption that they are recorded, the electronic watermark information is embedded in the data. Then the data are reproduced and outputted. When the data are reproduced with no recording of them assumed, no electronic watermark information is embedded in the data. Then the data are reproduced and outputted. When no electronic watermark information cannot be detected when the reproduced data are recorded, recording of the data is limited.
