To provide a method and device for surely packaging a bundle of linear objects as they remain secured on a winding frame, etc., without rolling in the bundle into a packaging film.

The packaging is carried out, when enveloping for packaging the bundle B of the linear objects with a prescribed length of a film sheet C, by the processes having the following steps: a first step of bending the film sheet into a valley-like form by pressing, toward the bundle of the linear objects, the surface of the film sheet C spanning them under a tension of a prescribed tensile strength; a second step of sandwiching the bundle B of the linear objects, by means of a pair of opposing enveloping means 24, 25, on the valley-like surface of the film sheet C from the reverse surface side; a third step of squeezing the bundle B of the linear objects by means of the enveloping means 24, 25; and a fourth step of bonding the front face sides of the film sheet C and cut them in the outer periphery portion of the bundle of the linear objects.
