PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of omission of wiring at the time of automatic wiring processing to efficiently design the arrangement of parts.
CONSTITUTION: A connection pin number counting means 31 obtains the number of pins, to which signals will be connected, in each parts to be arranged on a printed circuit board based on circuit connection information of a network list, and a parts outside shape data converting means 32 converts the outside shape of each parts to a shape enlarged in accordance with the obtained number of connection pins to design the arrangement of each parts. A parts outside shape changing means 3, substitutes the outside shape of each parts in parts arrangement data of the printed circuit board, on which parts are completely arranged, with this enlarged shape, and a parts arrangement improving means 34 detects overlap of parts outside shapes due to substitution of parts outside shapes and moves parts positions to eliminate the overlap in a parts arrangement area of the printed circuit board, thus designing the arrangement of respective parts.
