Abstract:

To provide a method and device for remotely measuring pressure and temperature of gas in a vehicular tire.

A transmitting circuit, that is, a transponder 104 is disposed on the frame member 14 of a vehicle 10 and a receiving circuit, that is, a transceiver 108 is disposed on a vehicle wheel 42. The receiving circuit is rotated by moving together with the vehicular wheel and electromagnetically coupled with the transmitting circuit. The receiving circuit further has a sensor for producing data signal corresponding to a physical characteristic of the vehicular wheel and a radio communication circuit for receiving electric energy from the transmitting circuit and supplying power remotely to the receiving circuit and transferring the data signal from the receiving circuit to the transmitting circuit.
