Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture recording/reproducing method and device capable of recording still images with high pixels during the recording of moving images, and easily making those moving images and still images correspond to each other, and conveniently dealing with the recorded picture data.
SOLUTION: Each frame data of moving images are recorded by using a compression method using a wavelet conversion. The frame instructed by a user is recorded with higher pixels than usual. At the time of reproducing the high pixel recording frame as moving images, the reproduction is executed until a prescribed resolution which is equivalent to that of a normal moving image frame is obtained by a progressive system, and at the time of reproducing the high pixel recording frame as still images, the reproduction is executed until the higher resolution is obtained. The high pixel recording frame embedded in a moving image file is managed as a virtual still image file, and when the virtual still image file is accessed, the frame is extracted from the moving image file, and converted into one still image file, and transferred.
