PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of the preparation of "tazuna konjak" (a double- twisted konjak piece, or a piece of coagulated paste made from the starch of the devil's-tongue), remarkably, by mechanizing and automating the process which has been hitherto carried out completely manually with poor efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: A konjak block 4 inserted into a holder 1, is placed upon a forming table 5 positioned under a konjak-supplying means 7. The konjak block 4 is sliced to pieces of konjak having desired thickness, by shifting the slice cutter 6 forward. The forming table 5 is pushed forward and stopped, and a slit-cutter 13 is lowered to slit the conjak piece. By turning a bridle-shaped forming tool 20 about 270°, one end of the conjak piece is held with a hook 18, passed through the slit, pulled downward with the hook 18 through a cutout 9 of the forming table 5, and finally knocked with a ram 19 and dropped into a container to obtain the objective "tazuna konjak".
