To provide a method and a device for preparing a drink in which the drink can be efficiently extracted and prepared from granular materials.
In the method for preparing a hot drink by extracting the drink from the granular materials which can be extracted in water, the materials contained in an extracting chamber are extracted with water at a temperature exceeding the boiling point of ordinary water, preferably, a temperature of 110°C to 130°C, however, still in a fluid state. Then, before the drink extracted is taken out from a drink outlet, it is cooled to a temperature lower than the boiling point of the ordinary water. A remarkable advantage of this method resides in that the materials are more efficiently extracted. A heat exchanger is desirably used to cool the extracted drink. In the heat exchanger, water for extraction before heating is allowed to flow for cooling the drink.
