A work carrying device is equipped with a conveyor 15 capable of carrying works W in the longitudinal direction, and a drop preventing device for works W is installed rigidly on one side of the work carrying path of this conveyor 15, wherein a stopper member 43 provided in the drop preventing device is positioned below the pass line of the conveyor 15 by the gravitational force due to placing of work W, and when the load due to placing of work W is removed, the stopper is positioned above the top position of the pass line.
