Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the thread loosening of stitches and to cut a thread end short by hooking a hook to a looper thread on a needle left side in the left advanced state of a looper when sewing is ended, driving a sewing machine for a specified stitch number and then respectively cutting a needle thread, the looper thread between cloth and the looper and the engagement part of the looper thread hooked to the hook.
SOLUTION: When the end of sewing approaches, needles 5 and 6 are present almost at a top dead center and the looper 3 is present at an advance position, a hook knife 16 is turned clockwise. Thus, the looper thread 10 from the cloth W to the eyelet 3e of the looper 3 is hooked to the hook 15. Then, the sewing machine is driven for one stitch and a long looper thread loop 10L engaged with the hook 15 is formed above the looper 3. Then, the looper thread 10 from the cloth W to the looper 3 is hooked by the hook 26 and the two threads extended from the cloth W to the lower part of a looper blade 3b are cut by the hook 27. The hook knife 16 is turned counterclockwise and the engagement part of the looper thread 10 is cut.
