Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharply improve the ability for correcting burst error.
SOLUTION: Rows of a data block which is an assembly of data sectors is sorted and constitutes two blocks. In such a case, as a sorting condition, a block consisting of even rows of even sectors and odd rows of odd sectors, and a block consisting of odd rows of even sectors and even rows of odd sectors are obtained. In such a manner, outer signals are generated in the separate blocks and inner signals are generated at the respective row units. Further, the blocks are united in the order of transmission and are made to a form which is interleaved by distributing the outer signals with respect to the respective sectors.
