PURPOSE: To provide efficient and simple operations by preventing a phase from being matched with a cut mask concerning dot data read and processed by an input device and applying a clipping-out function for photographs and a stripping function for characters.

CONSTITUTION: The input device reads a photograph original 10 of a transparent film on which the photograph is clipped out, laid out and stuck in, a dot image 11 of the photograph is provided, and a binary mask image 12 clipping out the photograph is provided by so-called back exposure. Further, the input device 1 reads character block copy bond 13, and a character line image imaging the characters is provided. Afterwards, the dot image 11 and the mask image 12 are synthesized by AND at a work station, the synthesized image is synthesized with the character line image 14 by OR, and a synthetic image 15 for an advertising leaflet is provided.
