PURPOSE: To always obtain a uniform finish even with a small amt. of an etching soln. and to prevent defective dissolution by filling the slit between two platelike members with the etching soln. and passing a planographic printing plate through the slit.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive planographic printing plate 4 is conveyed to an etching part 1, etched, rinsed in a rinsing part 2 and coated with a gum soln. in a gum coating part 3. In the etching part 1, the slit 8 between upper and lower platelike members 6, 7 is filled with an etching soln. injected from a tank 9 through a feeding hole 6a and the printing plate 4 passes through the slit 8. The printing plate 4 having a photoconductive layer contg. an org. photosemiconductor on a supporting body passes preferably through the slit 8 after a toner image is formed on the plate 4 and the unused etching soln. is preferably fed by 70-700ml per 1m2 of the plate 4.
