PURPOSE: To obtain the processing method which does not generate the staining of printed matter and has high maintenance and running characteristics by having cleaning mechanisms for cleaning rollers, etching liquid squeeze rollers and/or rinsing liquid squeeze rollers.
CONSTITUTION: This device has the squeeze rollers 14, 25 which remove processing liquids from a planographic printing plate 1 and transporting rollers 2, 24 respectively in an etching section 10 and a rinsing section 20. The squeeze rollers and transporting rollers are provided with the cleaning mechanisms 18, 26. The cleaning mechanism 28 is constituted by bringing blades consisting of plate members into pressurized con tact with the squeeze rollers 14 and the transporting rollers 24 in order to remove the deposits sticking to the peripheral wall surfaces of the squeeze rollers 14 and the transporting rollers 24. The cleaning mechanism 26 is used to clean the squeeze rollers 25 and consists of a brush rollers 27 and a shower device 23c. The shower devices 23a to 23c inject the rinsing liquid from plural nozzles hole, thereby washing away the deposits on the plate surface. The staining of the printed matter is obviated in this way and the running and maintenance characteristics are greatly improved.
