Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a method and device being suitable for manufacturing a ball screw shaft having a long screw part on the middle part of the shaft.
CONSTITUTION: After a roughly finished groove m0 of a screw shaft W is roughly mechined with a roughing tool, the ball screw groove m is finished by executing form-rolling along the roughly finished groove m0 with a pair of single thread dies 11, 12 having single projecting line part 15 and relatively moving the screw shaft W and the dies 11, 12 in the axial direction. Further, the shapes of the projecting line parts 15 of the dies 11, 12 are made asymmetric along the axial direction, and the form-rolling margin on the form-rolling progressing side is made large.
