To provide a method and device for producing gas hydrate capable of producing crystals of the gas hydrate which are less apt to break and having large crystal sizes when the gas hydrate of methane-containing gases, such as methane gas or natural gas is produced.
The method for producing gas hydrate includes: a dissolution step in which a methane gas or at least methane-containing mixed gas as a raw gas is mixed with raw water at a pressure and/or a temperature at which the gas hydrate of the raw gas is not produced, to dissolve the raw gas into the raw material water; and a producing step of producing the gas hydrate by subjecting the raw gas dissolved water obtained by the dissolution step to a pressure and a temperate at which the gas hydrate is produced, as well as at the temperature being controlled to become a temperature at which the crystal form of the produced gas hydrate becomes plate-like.
