Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method which easily executes insertion of an optical waveguide body into a chamber and production of the whole of a cable core in individual work steps.
CONSTITUTION: This method produces an optical cable OC provided with a cable core consisting of many chamber elements CE1 to CE5 where optical waveguide body tapes BD1 to BD4 are stored. First, chamber elements are guided along curve tracks, and optical waveguide body tapes are inserted into chamber elements in layers within the ranges of curve tracks, and in this case, outer optical waveguide body tapes in curve tracks are made longer than inner optical waveguide body tapes, and chamber elements produced in this manner are arranged so as to spirally extend along the cable axial line, thus forming the cable core.
