Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always perform a stable read operation by changing optical signal accumulation time so that data which is obtained from a charge coupled device may become a readable state of a code which agrees to a numeric character string that is preliminarily stored and fixing the optical signal accumulation time at the time of reaching the readable state.
SOLUTION: Read light outgoes from a light source 7, is converged by a light projecting optical system 8A, reflects on a bar code label 6, projects and forms an image on a CCD 1 after passing through a light receiving optical. system 8B. A digital signal after A/D conversion that corresponds to bar codes which are accumulated on the CCD 1 is outputted to a fixing part 2. The part 2 compares it with a pattern that corresponds to a bar code which is preliminarily stored in a storing part 3 and fixes it. A change signal of accumulation time is outputted from an optical signal accumulation time changing part 4 to a controlling part 5 in order that is preliminarily set, and an optical signal accumulation time operation is changed. When an output signal from the CCD 1 coincides with any of patterns that correspond to a preliminarily stored bar code and is decoded, the change operation of accumulation time ends.
