Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the constitution of a semi-disclosed content signal encoder which operates by securing a prescribed security level to the contents of an object to be encoded.
SOLUTION: By assigning a prescribed code word to each data value of the number of pieces of time-series data obtained by orthogonally converting supplied picture and sound signals, a variable length coding table 14 is obtained. Among the code word described in the variable length coding table, the number of the pieces of the time-series data is assigned as the same number and code words different to each other are exchanged to prepare an exchanged variable length coding table 15. A CPU 16 generates a coding selection signal for identifying which of the variable length coding table and the exchanged variable length coding table to use for performing variable length coding of a VLC device 121 and outputs it to a communication network with a compressed coding signal. Thus the constitution of the content signal encoder 10 is realized.
