Abstract:

To provide a method for regenerating an adsorbent at a low cost by which it is possible to make the dew point of gas to be dried constant as much as possible.

This method for regenerating an adsorbent is to regenerate an adsorbent containing a solvent medium, especially moisture. The adsorbent undergoes a treatment to remove the solvent medium by a hot regenerating gas and then is cooled. The heat generated by this cooling is sent to a heat accumulator for heating the regenerating gas. To make the dew point of the dried gas constant, the adsorbent is sequentially guided to an adsorption area 26 in which the solvent medium is removed from the adsorbent, a regeneration area 27 in which the regenerating gas passes through the adsorbent and a cooling area 28 in which heat is removed from the adsorbent and is sent to the heat accumulator 34 in this order.
