This device for releasing the retention of the hole holding pipe 50 installed in a boring hole comprises a rotating shaft 1, a press-fitting device 2 rotatably supported on the rotating shaft 1, press-fitting device drive means 12, 13, 14, and 15 for press-fitting the press-fitting device 2 against the inner wall of the hole holding pipe 50 by driving the press-fitting device 2 in a radial direction, a hammer 3 rotatably fitted to the rotating shaft 1 and hammering the end part of the press-fitting device 2 in a circumferential direction, and hammer drive means 20, 21, and 22 accumulating the rotational force of the rotating shaft 1 as the hammering force of the hammer 3 and driving the hammer 3 by intermittently releasing the hammering force.
