Abstract:
It is proposed in the process that the combustion process be carried out in a closed combustion unit by means of the supply of hot combustion air as the energy carrier, at a temperature so high that combustion- and/or flue-gas temperatures between 850 and 1250 DEG C are reached in the combustion unit. In particular, the combustion process is to be coupled with the burning process of a cement clinker burning plant and to be carried out in parallel with this in a closed combustion chamber, combustion air for the combustion process of the pollutant materials being branched off from the cooler exhaust air stream arising during the cooling of the burnt clinker and introduced into the combustion chamber, and flue gas from the combustion chamber being introduced into the system of the cement clinker burning plant. An apparatus for this has a closed combustion unit (3) with a feed (13) for combustion air, connected to a hot gas source (28,33) and preferably coupled to the cement burning unit (2), the hot combustion air being taken from the clinker cooler (28) and flue gas opening into the calciner (24) of the cement burning plant (1).
