Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably clamp a recording medium during reproduction, and to stably perform the reproduction in an information reproducing device such as a DVD player.
SOLUTION: A DVD player is provided with a disk clamping mechanism 900 capable of clamping or unclamping a DVD 100. This mechanism includes a catch 81 for DVD clamping, and operates associatively with a motive power caused by the movement of a pickup 30. A carriage motor 34 is connected as a motive power source to the pickup 30. A first driving voltage is supplied to the carriage motor 34 during DVD playing and, when the unclamping of the DVD 100 is realized, a second driving voltage larger than the first driving voltage is supplied. The first driving voltage of these inhibits the operation of the clamping catch 81 by the pickup 30.
