A received signal reproducing device has a receiver 7 for receiving a compressed signal (compressed data) of a first sampling frequency fs0 and storing the received signal in an FIFO 1, and a digital signal processor (DSP) 4 for reading the compressed data from the FIFO 1 for decoding and sampling the decoded compressed data with a second sampling frequency fs1, and prevents the occurrence of underflow of the FIFO 1 by making the second sampling frequency fs1 lower than the first sampling frequency fs0. If the storage quantity of the FIFO 1 becomes larger than a prescribed value, overflow of the FIFO 1 is prevented by making the second sampling frequency fs1 higher by the prescribed value.
