Abstract:

To provide a method and a device for communication resource reservation and a recording medium where a communication resource reservation program is recorded, which enable a user to request a desired quality of service (QoS) by using parameters peculiar to application.

The method is comprised of a step where the user is enabled to select a desired communication QoS level by using parameters peculiar to application, a step where it is discriminated whether resources on communication links required for transmission of multimedia data requested by the user can be reserved or not, a step where resources for requested transmission are reserved if they can be reserved, and a step where the best resources are determined in accordance with user's selection and are reserved if the reservation of the resources is impossible, and multimedia data are delivered to a remote node in real time.
