To provide a method and a device for sealing an end of a double pipe for a gas piping having a short construction period and a low manufacturing/construction cost by using a sheet provided with a through-hole which can be freely opened and closed with a plug.
The method comprises the steps of surrounding an outer periphery of the vicinity of the end of a sleeve pipe 1 and a part of an outer periphery of a gas pipe 2 by a sheet 31 having flexibility and airtightness which comprises the through-hole 33 and the plug 34 capable of freely opening and closing the through-hole 33 and is provided with an airtight fastener capable of freely fastening mutually on both sides, forming a tubular body by fastening the airtight faster, and tying the vicinity of one end of the tubular body to the sleeve pipe 1 and the vicinity of the other end of the tubular body to the gas pipe 2, The plug 34 is opened and a gas leakage detection means is inserted into the through-hole 33 in a state where the clearance between the end of the sleeve pipe 1 and the periphery of the gas pipe 2 is sealed, thereby enabling detection of the presence or absence of the gas leakage from the gas pipe 2.
