Abstract:
PURPOSE: To retrieve a moving image as a retrieval key.
CONSTITUTION: When inputting and storing the moving image, a scene change automatic detecting means 10 detects a scene change, and a feature amount calculating means 12 calculates the feature amount of each scene. The feature amount is stored in a storage device together with the moving image. At the time of retrieval, a scene change automatic detecting means 16 detects the scene change of the inputted moving image, and a feature amount calculating means 18 calculates the feature amount of each scene. A correspondence deciding means 20 compares the feature mount of the stored moving image with the feature amount of the moving image inputted as the retrieval key and decides whether they are correspondent each other or not.
