PURPOSE: To sense abnormality in a transport device such that the follower shaft is stopped by breakage of a belt or chain, poor performance of the bearing part due to inclusion of foreign matter, or slip of belt caused by its wear, or that a difference is generated in the revolving speed between the follower shaft and main drive shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A proximity switch 11 is installed confronting a gear fixed to the end of a main drive shaft 2 and a follower shaft 3, and each time these switches sense gear, a sensing signal is given to a control device 12. The control device 12 reads the revolving speeds of the follower shaft 3 and main drive shaft 2 on the basis of given signal, and when the difference exceeds the set value in continuance for a certain period of time, an alarm 14 emits a warning.
