Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SENSING POSITION OF UNDERWATER RUNNING BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2755863
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To shorten the signal transmitting time and provide precise measurability for the position by receiving a pinger signal with sound sensors hung down at a float buoy, and sending it to a measuring ship via radio data links.
CONSTITUTION: Each underwater running body 1 is fitted with a synchronous pinger or asynchronous pinger to transmit a pinger signal to sound sensors 61-63 of float buoys 51-53 via paths M1, M2, and M3. The sensors 61-63 receive the pinger signal from the running body 1 and response signals from transponders 31, 32, 33, and these signals are at once forwarded to a measuring ship 2 from antennae at the aerial parts of the float buoys 51-53 via radio data links 71-73. The ship 2 measures the reception times of the received signals of the sensors 61-63 transmitted from the respective float buoys 51-53. From these measuring times, the transmission times from the ship 2 via respective paths to the sensors 61-63 are determined to serve calculating the distances along the respective paths.
