PURPOSE: To improve workability and separating ratio by performing work for separating vinyl chloride from waste plastics efficiently and precisely.
CONSTITUTION: Waste plastics containing vinyl chloride are crushed by a crusher 1 and mixed into slurry mother liquid 32 at a slurry forming tank 2. The slurry thus obtained is sent through a main passage 7, in which electromagnetic waves whose energy is damped in proportion to the concentration of chlorine in the slurry are emitted from a transmitter 13, which waves are received by a receiver 14 and a changeover means 9 between the passage 7 and separation passages 10, 11 is changed over based on the signal from the receiver 14 so that a slurry having chlorine concentration higher than predetermined value is changed over to the separation passage 10 to allow the slurry to flow therethrough.
