Abstract:
PURPOSE: To establish picture luminance of the same standard for the seamless display of composite video pictures by individually correcting the luminance sections of the related detailed elements of each picture by adding smoothing factors stored in a memory to the luminance sections at the time of projecting the picture.
CONSTITUTION: Video signals generated from video signal generators 10A-10C adjusted by a synchronizer are sent to a smoothing device 14. The device 14 is controlled by a microcomputer 20 and adds a prescribed set of smoothing factors stored in a memory to the luminance sections of the related detailed elements of each picture. A picture corrected with the smoothing factors is displayed on a monitor 20a and individual smoothing factors are independently corrected in accordance with an instruction given from a keyboard 20B. Therefore, a composite video picture is displayed in such a state that the picture can be seen with uniform luminance, because the luminance of a seamless composite video picture is adjusted accurately on each detailed element across the whole video picture.
