METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STEP MEASUREMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a step with precision by retrieving the step, corresponding to the acceleration from which the component other than the acceleration following the movement of a person, in the output from an acceleration sensor attached to the human body, is removed, from a correspondence table between the acceleration and the step.
SOLUTION: An acceleration sensor 30, the number-of-step measurement sensor 32 and an earth magnetism detection sensor 34 are connected to a step measurement device 10. A Fourier transform part 22 and a filter part 24 perform the operation with which components other than the acceleration following the movement of a person are removed from the acceleration detected with the acceleration sensor 30. Only the higher side of the frequency components Fourier-transformed is made to pass, and digitized with an A/D conversion part 26, and inputted to a CPU 12. Relating to an initialization process, acceleration per step and the step are measured based an the acceleration and the number of steps when the person walks over the distance set in advance, actually. The measurement is performed by the user it's self. A reference value is renewed based on the measured average value of the acceleration and the calculated step. Relating to the step, the difference between the measured acceleration value and the acceleration of the reference value is referred to the table for correction.
