Abstract:

To provide a reinforcing method and a reinforcing device enabling a carbon nanotube to strongly adhere to a probe, which adheres to a tip of the probe of a handling equipment such as a scanning probe microscope, carbon nanotube tweezers or the like.

A joint section where the carbon nanotube adheres to the tip of the probe of the scanning probe microscope or the handling equipment, is dipped in a dielectric liquid section, and a portion of liquid is solidified around the joint section in order to form a reinforcing section, by applying a potential difference between the joint section and the liquid section by using an external power source, thereby reinforcing the joint section.
