Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the flicker of an arc furnace while an excessive equipment investment is avoided and a power consumption efficiency is improved by a method wherein the operation voltage/current selection is performed only when a signal outputted from a flicker meter exceeds a specified threshold to reduce a power supplied to the arc furnace temporarily.
SOLUTION: A flicker produced in a line 2 is continuously measured and its 20-second integrated valve B is obtained and the value B is inputted to a flicker operation device 4. A 1-minute reference integrated value which is the base of the regulation is set in the flicker operation device 4 as the reference value beforehand. A 1-minute integrated value C corresponding to the inputted 2-second integrated value B is estimated from the value B and subjected to an arithmetic compassion processing with the 1-minute reference integrated value A. A signal (a positive signal equivalent to C-A) based on the arithmetic processing result is inputted to a flicker controller 5 to reduce a power supplied to an arc furnace 1.
