Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem where there is the fear of illegal use by a computer in digital transmission and there is the fear of casual copy in analog transmission.
SOLUTION: Output control information is recorded with an MPEG stream in a magnetic tape 1. This output control information consists of two bits and it is extracted from a reproduced signal by an output control circuit 9 to control a D. I/F circuit 7 and a switch circuit 11. That is, when the first bit of the output control information is '0', the circuit 9 enables the circuit 7 to output a digital signal and when it is '1', the circuit 9 prohibits output. When the second bit of the output control information is '0', the circuit 9 turns off the circuit 11 to prohibit the output of an analog component signal and when it is '1', the circuit 9 permits the output.
