Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for treating the slag to be generated from a refining furnace in which the equipment cost is relatively inexpensive by arranging a shallow rapid-cooling vessel which receives the slag discharged from an electric furnace immediately below or in the vicinity of the refining furnace and rapidly cools and hardens the slag.
SOLUTION: The molten slag to be discharged from a refining furnace 11 is once and intermediately received by a slag discharge pan 12 for temporary storage arranged immediately therebelow or in the vicinity thereof, the molten slag in the discharged slag pan 12 is discharged into a shallow rapid-cooling vessel 13 mounted on a carrying truck 15, water is sprayed on the discharged molten slag to be rapidly cooled, the rapidly cooling vessel 13 mounted on the truck 15 is tilted in another place to discharge the slag which is rapidly cooled and solidified in a cracked condition.
