PURPOSE: To enhance the quality of a cathode-ray tube during the process of washing the surface of the tube, which is a preliminary process for forming a film on the panel surface of the cathode-bay tube.

CONSTITUTION: A device for washing the surface of a cathode-ray tube includes a pure water supply jig 29 for discharging pure water 34, an air knife 28 disposed above the pure water supply jig 29 to blow air 32 to a panel surface 10a, and vertical movement means for putting both the pure water supply jig 29 and the air knife 28 in vertical motion along a guide 30. Since air is blown as filthy water attached to the panel surface is washed off by the pure water, the quality and yield of the panel surface are enhanced.
