Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and rapier-type device for weft insertion, designed to insert a weft in a short time to considerably speeding up the operation of the loom.
SOLUTION: This device for weft insertion works as follows: a pair of rapiers 2 and 3 are inserted via both sides of weave width, a weft 1 is inserted by the aid of one of the rapiers and delivered at the central position of the weave width to the other rapier; thereafter the respective rapiers are withdrawn on both sides of the weave width and then the weft is withdrawn by the latter rapier.
