Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make executable the insulation diagnosis of a CV cable whose cable line is long such as a 22 kVCV cable (crosslinked polyethylene insulating power cable).
SOLUTION: A DC voltage is impressed to the conductor of a CV cable, and a changing curve a expressing DC leakage currents Id running through an insulating layer is obtained. Also, a smooth monotone attenuation function f(t) is calculated based on the changing curve α. The fluctuating components of the DC leakage currents Id whose current values are changing in a relatively long period being a difference between the changing curve α and the monotone attenuation function f(t) are observed. The insulation deterioration of the CV cable is diagnosed based on the fluctuating components.
