Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing a noise-failure of a fuel level sensor in a vehicle, so that fuel leakage monitoring can be maintained or stopped based on whether the fuel level sensor is in noise-failure or not.
SOLUTION: When a predetermined diagnosis beginning condition is satisfied, a conversion value converted from a signal from a fuel level sensor is compared with a predetermined value, and a detection of a fluctuation is counted in accordance with the comparison. When a fluctuation detection duration exceeds a predetermined period and a fluctuation detection counter value exceeds a first predetermined number, a noise-failure occurrence is counted and a noise-failure of the fuel level sensor is warned of in the case that the noise-failure counter value exceeds the second predetermined number.
