Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect a damage brought about inside a roller bearing and smoothly drive an apparatus while the roller bearing rotates at low speed with high load.
SOLUTION: An outer ring 20 is supported at a casing 1, and an inner ring 22 is rotatably supported via a plurality of balls 21 at an inner circumference of the outer ring 20. A plug 3 is set at an opening part of the casing 1. A projecting streak 30 is formed in an internal end face of the plug 3. As a result, the projecting streak 30 presses an end face of the outer ring 20. A recessed part 31 is formed in the projecting streak 30, in which a strain gauge 4 is accommodated. The strain gauge 4 is fixed to the end face of the outer ring 20. A damage brought about to the ball 21 or the like is detected on the basis of an output signal of the strain gauge 4.
